Voyage vers les Ruines

The tale “Journey to the Ruins” is a participatory story, which was published on Instagram during the November 2020 lockdown, in France.

Instagram is a social network that offers the possibility to publish “stories”. These are ephemeral audio-visual publications, which disappear after 24 hours.
The interactive mechanics of this social network were used to their full potential to allow the readers to participate in the development of the story. Many ‘templates’ have been created to make every step attractive and playful.

Each day, a chapter of the story was published. At the end of each chapter, readers had to choose an action or suggest one. The next day, a new chapter was available. Since the confinement lasted 30 days, the story continued for 30 chapters.

Le récit “Voyage vers les Ruines” est une histoire participative, qui a été publié sur Instagram lors du confinement de novembre 2020.

Instagram est un réseau social qui offre la possibilité de publier des “stories”. Il s’agit de publications audio-visuelles éphémères, qui disparaissent au bout de 24 heures.
Les mécaniques interactives de ce réseau social ont été utilisées à leur maximum afin de permettre aux lecteurs de participer à l’élaboration de l’histoire. De nombreux “fonds” ont été créés afin de rendre chaque étape attrayante et ludique.

Chaque jour, un chapitre de l’histoire était publié. À la fin de chaque chapitre, les lecteurs choisissaient la suite du récit. Le jour suivant, un nouveau chapitre était disponible. Le confinement ayant duré 30 jours, l’histoire a suivi son cours durant 30 chapitres.
